The Christmas Season changes what we see. Lights and decorations everywhere adorn doors, windows and walls. Behind all these new sights, however, profound original visions still shine – visions that inspire not just our season, but our entire lives.
Week 1: An Upside-Down World, Luke 2:1-7, Sunday, December 14, 2025, Third Sunday of Advent
The story opens with an emperor and a humble family. One reigns and the other is forced into a hard, demeaning journey. Little did that emperor know, however, that this was the beginning of his end. A new King would be born who would soon launch His reign over every human heart.
The Point: Jesus comes as a new type of King, identifying with us to inspire our love, not just our obedience.
Next Steps: Each day this week, tell Jesus why you love Him.

Week 2: A Heavenly Revelation, Luke 2:8-14, Sunday, December 21, 2025, Fourth Sunday of Advent
Who will receive the honor of first seeing the new King? The rich and famous? Royalty and the noble classes? No, it would be humble shepherds on night watch. They are granted one of the most glorious privileges of all time, to witness an angelic proclamation of the new King!
The Point: Like the shepherds, this King has chosen us both to experience and to share His joy and His peace.
Next Steps: Let’s be a part of God’s story this week, by sharing His joy and His peace with someone this week.

Week 3: The First Worshippers, Luke 2:15-20, Wednesday, December 24, 2025, Christmas Eve
Humble shepherds were the first to kneel before the new King. The church was a stall, and the altar, a manger. Little did they know that this manger would one day be replaced by a cross, and that cross, by a throne. The scene would change, but the worship they began continues today. The Child before whom they bowed is the Christ we still adore.
The Point: This King gives us new reasons to live!
Next Steps: Talk daily with Jesus this week – because He is really there – and ask Him to give you a new perspective on life.
Week 4: A Sign of Hope, Luke 2:25-32, Sunday, December 28, 2025
The parents bring their child to a temple built by their ancestors. A priest continues the ancient tradition of ministering at that temple. On this day, however, he will have an unparalleled honor. He will see the very One for whom all of this was built, the One to whom it all points. Can we be gracious while we hold evil doers accountable? Does grace allow us to differ about matters of truth? In Jesus, truth and grace are fully revealed, empowering us to be both truthful and gracious.
The Point: Waiting can become praising when we take the time to engage with this King.
Next Steps: Let’s stay closely engaged with Jesus this week as we walk our own pathways from waiting into praising.
