SAT OCT 7 at 10:00 AM Church Women United – As summer’s end is approaching, it is time for us to start our new year to be, as our CWU Vision states, “Women of Faith cultivating Love, Hope, and Peace for all Creation.” Our first meeting will be on Saturday at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 525 Martin Luther King Ave East, Bradenton. Please arrive early for fellowship and catching up with each other after our summer break. Our Project Focus of the Month for October will be Pace for Girls Manatee. Pace for Girls representatives will be our guests to explain their program to us. *Migrant Sewing in the Fellowship Hall
All are welcome to join us the 2nd and 4th Mondays, November through April, in the Fellowship Hall to sew and knot quilts. No experience necessary and a great way to meet others and help the migrant community! Donations of quilting cotton, fabric, quilts or quilt tops about 35” x 44” or larger for beds, batting, embroidery floss, small sewing scissors and lightweight, clean mattress pads are always welcome.

NOVEMBER – Church Women United of Manatee County’s Annual Migrant Tea begins at 10:00 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3200 Manatee Avenue West in Bradenton. Items needed are children’s clothes, baby clothes, diapers, children’s books, school supplies, blankets, quilts, and women’s hygiene supplies and cleaning supplies. The program will feature migrant preschoolers and a former migrant student who will share his/her experiences as a former migrant student and now a successful adult. All are welcome.
