Rebuilding after the Storm (Jan 8 – Feb 5)

Over these last couple years, our region has endured much.  Disease, disaster, and division have taken their toll on our resources and our resolve.  We now have a choice: to surrender or rebuild.  At Roser, we will dig into the history of God’s people to unearth the power to start again.

Week 1: Go Up, Haggai 1:7-11, Jan 8, 2023

God’s people were given the chance to start again, to rebuild a temple that their enemies had destroyed.  Few, however, had the heart to re-engage in the work.  God therefore challenges them to think carefully about their choices because they will have far-reaching consequences.

Week 2: Stirred Up, Haggai 1:12-15a, Jan 15, 2023

Disaster has a way of knocking the collective breath out of us. The effort to rebuild will therefore require a new spirit.  Thankfully, the God who first beathed life into us stands ready to do it again, filling us with a new spirit of hope, power, and joy.

Week 3: Shaken Up, Haggai 2:6-9, Jan 22, 2023

Any rebuilding process will inevitably face many obstacles.  It’s a good thing, therefore, that we serve a God who has no problem removing those obstacles, when His people are committed to His work.

Week 4: Wake Up, Haggai 2:15-19, Jan 29, 2023

In the work of rebuilding, doing nothing is dangerous.   A failure to act will draw us deeper into the mud.  God therefore sends a wakeup call through His prophet, a call that still addresses us today.

Week 5: Look Up, Haggai 2:20-23, Feb 5, 2023

When we work toward God’s vision, victory is assured.  We must therefore look up and find our direction from His revealed message.
