Palm Sunday Cantata – Festival of Faith

SUNDAY, APRIL 2 at 8:30 or 10:00 AM, in person in the Sanctuary or online. Arrive early -or- come to the first service for the best seats!

Presented by the Roser Cantata Choir, Roser Ringers and Chamber Orchestra, directed by Craig Ramberger, Director of Music Ministries at Roser Church and accompanied by Brandon Kouri, Associate Director of Music Ministries at Roser Church. FESTIVAL OF FAITH by Joseph M. Martin is a celebration of the life and ministry of Christ through hymns, original anthems and scripture readings. We will travel with Christ down the dusty roads of Galilee and the ancient stone streets of Jerusalem to the windswept hill of Calvary and enter the garden of resurrection. Everyone is invited to join us for this moving, musical service. Songs Include: Procession of Faith; And Can It Be That I Should Gain; A Call to Faith; Come to the Mountain; Prayer of Restoration; Festival of Palms; In the Breaking of the Bread; Shadow Garden; I Saw the Cross of Jesus; Easter People, Rise and A Call to Alleluia.

Everyone in attendance at the 8:30 or 10:00 AM Worship Services will find a Palm Cross on their seat! The crosses are hand-woven by villagers near Masasi, Tanzania and are made from the dried leaves of the dwarf palm. African Palms was founded in 1965 by Father Alan Talbot.  Having served as a missionary in Tanzania, Father Talbot observed the poverty of the people and sought ways to help them increase their income. He encouraged the villagers to weave palm crosses which would be sold to churches for use on Palm Sunday. African Palms awards grants for use in projects that benefit the entire community such as clean water, education and medical aid. Projects receiving grant funding in recent years include disaster and refugee relief, medical and public health facilities, education and buildings for schools, clean/safe drinking water systems.
