SUN SEP 17 Shoebox Wrapping in the Fellowship Hall following the 10:00 AM Worship Service. Everyone is invited to help! Lunch will be served. If you would like to donate shoeboxes, please bring them to the Narthex or church office before the event.
OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD is a Samaritan’s Purse project that collects and delivers gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories. Empty shoeboxes are filled with a “wow” item and other fun toys, etc. Everyone is invited to participate in making sure children in need around the globe experience the Good News and great joy of the holiday.

Options for filling shoeboxes:
1. BUY-A-BOX for $20 or $30 (includes $9 for shipping). The BREd Board will shop and fill the box accordingly. Please donate online by the end of October at www.roserchurch.com/give or make a check payable to Roser Church, mark it for Operation Christmas Child and mail it to PO Box 247, Anna Maria, FL 34216.
2. FILL-A-BOX Pick up a shoebox from the Narthex or the Church Office during office hours after September 17. Fill it and return it to the Narthex or Church Office by November 13.
3. SHOP & DROP Shop on your own and drop your bag of items in the Narthex or leave them in the Church Office.
PREPARING YOUR SHOEBOX GIFT…
Please remember that your shoebox may be the only gift the child ever receives. So, plan to pack quality items that will last.
Determine if you will pack for a boy or girl and their age range.
Select a quality “wow” toy such as a doll, soccer ball with pump or stuffed animal, then fill with other fun toys, hygiene items, and school supplies.
Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift. You can also include a personal note and photo. Fill the shoebox and bring it back to the Narthex or Church Office by SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 12.
The cost to deliver each box is $9.00. If you would like to help with the costs, please donate online at www.roserchurch.com/give or make a check payable to Roser Church and mark it for Operation Christmas Child. If you are packing a box or dropping off a bag you may include your check in the box or bag or mail it to PO Box 247, Anna Maria, FL 34216.
Please write BOY or GIRL and the age range on the box or bag and return your filled shoebox or bag to the bin in front of the Sanctuary marked FILLED SHOEBOXES AND BAGS.
The BREd (Board of Religious Education) team double check each box, making sure it is complete. They have a selection of extra items they can add to a box to be sure it is perfect for either a boy or girl in the appropriate age category and climate. They also check for undesired items like liquid, food (especially candy or toothpaste which seems so appropriate, but can ruin the whole box), etc. The only hygiene items we can send are combs, brushes, a bar of soap and washcloth. The perfectly packed gifts are then sealed, labeled and stacked in the Sanctuary ready to be dedicated.
Shoebox DEDICATION is SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 12. On the day of dedication the pastor prays over the filled boxes and blesses them. They are then delivered to the local Operation Christmas Child gift collecting location.
