Who is Jesus? Many have offered opinions, so finding an accurate answer to this question can be difficult. In the Gospel of John, Jesus uses seven “I AM” statements to clarify His nature and work. By reflecting on His words, we can follow the Jesus who defines Himself.
Week 1: “I AM the Bread of Life”, John 6:35-40, October 20, 2024
In many cultures, bread symbolizes a basic need for nourishment. Without it, people starve. Jesus uses this analogy to describe our fundamental need for Him in our lives.
Week 2: “I AM the Light of the World”, John 8:12-18, October 27, 2024
Without light, we are destined to stumble in the dark. In the dark, bad things happen and people get hurt. Jesus uses this light image to describe His entrance into a world engulfed by spiritual darkness.

Life is filled with many uncertainties, and the pathway to life eternal is even more elusive. However, Jesus desires to impart a quiet certainty to anyone who will follow His lead.
