We are better together. Many organizations must discover this truth for themselves, and, as a church, we have the same challenge. We may try to follow Jesus alone, but we will accomplish more when we join others in His work. As a family of Jesus-followers, we are called to make a difference in this world. What difference then are we making? Is the world a better place because of the work we are doing together?
Week 1: A Mission of Comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-7)
We all want heaven where we will experience no pain or suffering. Yet, we remain on earth, where suffering still abounds. God’s good news, however, is that Jesus brings heaven to earth, and He brings heaven’s comfort through those that follow Him.
Week 2: A Mission of Encouragement (2 Corinthians 1:18-24)
Many make promises, but not everyone keeps them. In Jesus, God makes a promise that He will always keep. As we receive and talk about this certain promise, we encourage those who may be wondering where their life might be headed.
Week 3: A Mission of Forgiveness (2 Corinthians 2:5-11)
Forgiveness is a powerful force if we have the courage to master it. It does not come easily. It is both counterintuitive and countercultural. Nevertheless, it is part of God’s plan to change people and change the world. He therefore calls all of His disciples to become experts in His forgiveness.
