The Library, Chapel and Pastor’s office are not yet open.
DEC 10 UPDATE ON HURRICANE RECOVERY: We have been working hard on getting the Roser Campus functioning at full capacity. In that effort we wanted to keep you informed of where we are. The majority of the recovery efforts will be complete by mid-January. Asbestos has been removed, drywall removed and replaced, and the team is meeting with each office user to ensure that when rooms are put back into use we are maximizing the space. We continue to find alternative meeting locations and are using Zoom to ensure that the business of Roser continues. We will keep you updated and we thank you for your patience. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to CONTACT US.
Worship Update for December… We return to two services at 8:30 and 10:00 AM in the Sanctuary. We will offer a Children and Youth program during the 10:00 AM hour on the outdoor stage. Please check back for updates. Please go to CONTACT US and sign up to receive the weekly eBulletin and other updates via email, or to contact the Roser staff.

News and Notes
Hello everyone. We have good news for you. Starting this Sunday, October 27, we can resume worship in our Sanctuary. We will have one service at 10:00 AM, and we will offer a Children and Youth program during that hour.
At this point, we may not be able to stream the service live, since our internet service at the church has not yet been fully restored. We will record the service, however, and make that recording available on our YouTube channel as soon as possible, later in the day.
King David once announced, “I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the LORD.’” (Psalm 122:1) As he penned those words, the beautiful temple completed by his son, Solomon, was still only a vision. His words remind us that we do not need to wait for a perfect building to rejoice. In His grace, the LORD attends our worship, calling both imperfect places and imperfect people, “His House.”
So let’s rejoice this weekend in our Sanctuary and share the blessing of the LORD’s presence among us. And I will see you on Sunday!
In His Service,
Dirk

Worship Update for Sunday, October 20
Hello everyone. As the weekend approaches, we wanted you to know that, here at Roser Church, we plan to hold a worship service this Sunday, October 20, 10:00 AM using our outdoor stage, weather permitting. Currently the forecast calls for partially sunny conditions with only a 6% chance of rain, and a daytime high of 82°F.
Things are developing rapidly as we continue to recover from both Helene and Milton. In our previous message, we noted that our Sanctuary roof had lost some shingles, but, at the time, the Sanctuary itself appeared to remain dry. Since that initial look, however, the situation has changed. Due to the damaged roof, some water has seeped through to the ceiling and has damaged some of the ceiling plaster.
We have covered the roof and have begun the process of drying and repairing the affected areas; however, this will take several days to complete. While these repairs take place, we will not be able to use the Sanctuary for worship. Hopefully we will be able to use it again next Sunday, October 27.
These challenges, however, will not prevent us from doing our best to worship together. God moves in powerful ways when His people meet to praise, pray and listen to His Word. Thankfully, our Roser family has invested in an outdoor stage that will facilitate this worship. So please bring a friend and let’s seek God together, to be blessed and encouraged by His presence.
We will have some chairs available, but it will be helpful if you can bring one with you. Let’s fill the island with sounds of praise!
Also, please understand we will not be able to stream our service live on our YouTube channel, but I will post a recording of the sermon on the channel. It will be the first sermon in our series called, Jesus Is…, reflecting on the seven “I AM” statements of Jesus, recorded in the Gospel of John.
The scriptures remind us: “[L]et us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another…” (Hebrews 10:24-25). Let’s heed this advice, and I will see you outside on Sunday.
In His Service,
Dirk
SUN OCT 13 – We invite you to choose one of the previous services from the Roser Church YouTube Channel… youtube.com/@RoserChurch. CONTACT US to receive the weekly eBulletin and other updates. Watch Pastor Dirk’s update…
SAT OCT 12 – Update from Pastor Dirk– A First Look at Our Roser Church Facilities after Hurricane Milton (See photos taken by Emily below.)
For the first time since the storm, we were allowed to visit our facilities today, Saturday, October 12, 2024. After touring the grounds with one of our Trustees, we are happy to report some good news.
All structures remain intact. No windows were broken. No additional storm surge seems to have entered the Sanctuary or Educational building. All compartments in the Rose Garden remain intact. The Sanctuary remains dry and still seems ready to hold services.
We did, however, lose shingles on several of our roofs, especially over the Sanctuary, with somewhat less damage to surrounding buildings. The good news is that we did not see any leaks in the ceiling due this damage. The roof on our outdoor stage was also somewhat damaged, but the structure likewise remains intact and is ready for use. Meanwhile, the various white vinyl fences on our grounds were largely dismantled.
Overall, however, we were very blessed. As soon as officials allow workers back onto the island, we can resume our cleanup from Hurricane Helene. We will also wait for access to the island to open up, so we can resume worship services in our Sanctuary. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available.
When Roser Church was established in 1913, it was meant to be a place where people from many different backgrounds could meet together to worship the same Lord. Today, by God’s grace, we will be able to continue this tradition 111 years later. As God’s people for our time, we will continue our mission of Loving Christ, Sharing His Grace and Serving All.
In His Service,
Dirk

PLEASE NOTE: All other programs and events are suspended until further notice
TUE OCT 8 Anna Maria Island is closed. The Roser Staff have been working hard to prepare the church building for Hurricane Milton and even though the office is closed and the phones are turned off, please click HERE to contact the staff. Pastor Dirk is monitoring the storm and will post as soon as any information is available after the hurricane has moved through Anna Maria Island. Let’s continue praying and caring for one another.

WED OCT 2 UPDATE:
Like so many of us on Anna Maria Island, we at Roser Church are working hard to recover from the blows dealt by Hurricane Helene. However, we also experienced a miracle in the midst of the storm. Thankfully, our Sanctuary remained mostly dry and unharmed.
We would therefore like to share this blessing with our community by inviting everyone to worship with us this Sunday, October 6, at 10:00 AM in our Sanctuary. We will broadcast this service live on our YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/@RoserChurch. Like our other services, you can also visit this channel to view the service at a later time.
We will sing songs of worship, pray for one another and hear a scriptural message of encouragement from Pastor Dirk, for both children and adults. If you are able, please join us in person or online, in a Sanctuary that was spared to offer hope in the time of trouble.
SAT SEP 28 – MESSAGE FROM PASTOR DIRK
Thankfully several staff members were permitted onto Anna Maria Island today to assess the impact of Helene on our beloved Roser Church facilities. We are happy to report that we found no significant structural damage.
All buildings remain intact. The Sanctuary and the Outdoor Stage especially remain in very good condition, with only a few touch ups required. We will face some significant challenges in other areas, however, where significant amounts of water entered the facilities, affecting bottom shelves and leaving a thin layer of water and sand on many of the floors.
While our leadership discusses options for moving forward, we wanted to provide this update as soon as possible. It could have been much worse. Many of our neighbors did not fare as well. We remain thankful, therefore, and will rise tomorrow to continue our mission of Loving Christ, Sharing His Grace, and Serving All.
In His Service,
Dirk
FRI SEP 27 – While Anna Maria Island recovers from Hurricane Helene, all worship services, in person and live stream are canceled for Sunday, September 29. However we invite you to worship with us by watching one of the many past sermons or cantatas that are posted on our Roser YouTube channel. Please watch the video message from Pastor Dirk.

WED SEP 25, 2024 – Due to adverse weather forecasts, the Roser Church Office will close on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 12 Noon and will remain closed through the end of business on Thursday, September 26, 2024. All church ministries and activities will be canceled for Wednesday and Thursday. The Council Meeting on Wednesday, September 26 is also canceled.
PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR UPDATES.
