Celebrate! Expanding Roser’s Platform for Worship

Click the picture below to watch this beautiful video by Adkins Building & Construction about the Celebrate! project including reflections from Pastor Dirk and Project Manager, Dick Gilmore.

Thanks to everyone that attended the grand reopening of the Roser Church Sanctuary on November 16! (Watch the service below.) The congregation gathered in the Sanctuary for Worship for the first time following the construction that began at the end of June! The purpose was to expand the platform for worship. Both the 8:30 and 10:00 AM services were held in the Sanctuary. At 10:00 AM our special guests included the City of Anna Maria Mayor Mark Short who delivered a congratulatory message, representatives from Adkins Construction and our carpenter, Johan Harding. Sharon Wisniewski, Chair of the Congregation gave an overview of the project and thanked the team that made the project a reality, and there was a prayer of dedication by Pastor Dirk Rodgers, Roser’s Senior Pastor. Refreshments were served following the Service.

On November 3, 2025 Cross Maker and Carpenter – Johan Harding, Roser Trustee and On Site Manager – Bill Marini and Roser Facilities Administrator – Charles Wade put the finishing touches to the new cross and hung it in place.

The remodeling of the Roser Church Sanctuary Platform was in the final stages and on Sunday, November 2 everyone was invited to join us for an outdoor Worship Service at 10:00 AM followed by a Sanctuary Open House and walk-through to view the progress!

In June 2025 we announced that we moved ahead with the remodeling of our Sanctuary Stage, supported by your giving to our Celebrate Campaign.  On Sunday, June 29, we began holding our 10:00 AM worship services in our Fellowship Hall until construction is completed later this summer.  During this time, our 8:30 service will continue to meet in the Chapel, and we will also stream both services on our YouTube channel.  To continue your giving to this project and track its progress, please click on the button above or scroll down to read more details. Also please keep in mind we are delighted to be able to now offer live music in both services twice a month for our closing hymn. Be sure not to miss this special addition to our services.

His company has worked with us for 4 years designing and working with Adkins Building & Construction to bring this to the construction stage. He will continue to monitor the project until completion. Thanks to the team that has been preparing the stage for construction and setting up the Fellowship Hall. Thursday, June 26 the piano and organ were moved by Central Music Organs. It took about 3 hours. There was a lot of disconnecting of wires from the organ which we will have to be careful of during construction and plan for when re-installed on the stage. The move was very well planned. Construction is going well… scroll through the pictures.

JULY 29, 2025 from Dick Gilmore – God works in mysterious ways. Yesterday I thought it would be a good idea to take pictures of the pews that had to be removed to make way for the expansion and post them on Craigs List.  We had talked about how best to deal with the pews since they are so hard to move and take up so much space.  I posted the pews at 7:00 last night and at 6:00 AM I had received a notice from Craigs list that George was very interested in using them.  By 2:00 this afternoon he had sent a truck to pick them up. He called me to thank me and tell me he had been looking for over 3 months to find church pews to be put in his new restaurant he was opening in North Port.  He also said that he would make a donation to the church in the future.  Needless to say we were happy to help him out but most of all to solve our pew problem.

To fix safety and allow for more flexibility, due to our growth, the Congregation approved the sanctuary remodel last year. Our Capital Campaign was successful in obtaining the necessary commitments to fund the project. So it’s finally here! Our faith journey will soon become a reality. Its not too late to join the team. Complete the form below to make a pledge and join our team.  As always we ask for your continued prayer for a successful completion.  We will keep everyone updated on this sight so stay tuned and God Bless.

WHY DO WE NEED A RENOVATION?

  • The existing choir loft was built over 30 years ago.
  • The loft had a single purpose–to accommodate a large choir.
  • Times have changed and we want to change to meet the demands of a new generation of believers.
  • A new design gives us flexibility in the type of programs we can offer while still accommodating our traditional programs.
  • Fewer stairs makes it safer for members entering and leaving the stage.
  • Offers much needed storage space in the back of the stage area.
