SUN DEC 14 – 5:30 PM – We assemble in front of the Roser Church Sanctuary to begin the journey. At 6:00 PM we take to the streets of beautiful Anna Maria to re-enact the mystery and joy of that Holy Night! The Bethlehem Walk is exciting for people of all ages—from the littlest of angels to the wisest of men. Invite your friends and neighbors to join the excitement. Cookies and beverages provided afterwards. DONATIONS OF COOKIES are gratefully accepted and can be dropped off on Sunday morning in the Narthex kitchen marked “Bethlehem Walk”.
The walk consists of taking the journey to Bethlehem (one block in Anna Maria) with Mary, Joseph, and the animals (llama, donkeys, goats and more) in search of shelter. While traveling from “inn” to “inn” we sing Christmas carols. Back at the church we celebrate the birth of Baby Jesus followed by refreshments and fellowship. Costumes are available in the Narthex to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis, create your own or just come as you are. Don’t forget to bring your flashlight!

From the setting of the sun to the rising of the moon the 2024 Bethlehem Walk was glorious! On Sunday, December 15 at 5:30 PM a crowd gathered to join the journey to Bethlehem (one block in Anna Maria) with Mary, Joseph, and the animals in search of shelter–traveling from “inn” to “inn” and singing Christmas carols. The innkeepers had no room for Joseph and Mary who was pregnant and anticipating the birth of her child. Back at the church (the stable) we celebrated the birth of Baby Jesus as the Wisemen brought their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh followed by refreshments and fellowship.
